Wills Solar Installation

Investing in low carbon technologies for campus buildings will help Schools and Faculties reduce operational expenses long-term. The 60kW Solar installation on the Kenneth Wills building rooftop is estimated to generate 93,500 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of clean electricity per year, and save nearly 60 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions.

This is the first solar project under the new Campus Sustainability Plan. Read more about the University's commitment to carbon reduction on the Ecoversity website.

Project features

  • The installation covers the whole of the Wills building rooftop, including The Cog and the DVCA main offices
  • Each year, the new 60kW Solar PV system will generate enough clean (zero carbon) electricity to power 18 South Australian homes
  • This is equivalent to the removal of approximately 13 passenger vehicles per year from South Australian roads
