Engineering South teaching laboratory

Ten rooms and two ancillary corridors in the Engineering South building will be demolished to create three teaching laboratories for the School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.

Project details

The flexible active learning spaces will have partitions to allow for small groups, or a large class of up to 36 students.

AV will include Echo360 recording capacity, with wireless mics, pendent speakers, lectern touch points and LCD panels.

The adjoining dwell-space will function as both a thoroughfare and breakout area, with bench seating, loose and plush furniture, and a 5m x 1.2m light board with graphic display.

Additional windows will improve light to the western side of the building, and external sunshades will help control the glare.

Expected completion is late-May 2024.
