Mechanical Engineering Laser Laboratory
A state-of-the-art laser laboratory will support the University of Adelaide as the lead university partner in the Heavy Industry Low-carbon Transition (HiLT) CRC.
Mechanical Engineering labs previously located in the Engineering North building, will be combined and moved to Engineering South. The new laser lab will become a critical facility for anticipated research programs within the HiLT CRC.

Mechanical Engineering Laser Laboratory architectural plan
Project details
- Opportunity to expand the types of experiments that can be undertaken for the entire research team.
- Improve current storage issues and handling of hazardous material (particulates) across the overall project area.
- Allow for researchers to safely relocate lasers and rigs to and from this lab.
