Net Zero Power and Fuels

Developing clean, renewable energy technology to reduce emissions and transition towards a low-carbon future.
Advancing the supply, integration and utilisation of net-zero energy sources and sinks is a central pillar of ISER’s research. Our activities span renewable electricity generation, storage, transmission and the electrification of heat, while our activity in fuels is technology agnostic, spanning hydrogen production storage and utilisation, alternative fuels derived from biomass and refuse, together with CO2 capture, utilisation and storage. Our leadership is illustrated by our invention and ongoing development partnership with industry of three innovative hydrogen production technologies: solar photo-catalysis, methane pyrolysis and sea-water electrolysis.
