Curator of the 'J.M. Coetzee: Photographs from Boyhood' exhibition A/Prof Hermann Wittenberg (University of the Western Cape) will give a seminar titled "Against World Literature: Photography and History in Life & Times of Michael K.' This paper will reread J.M. Coetzee's lauded novel Life & Times of Michael K as a text that is grounded in South Africa by exploring its links to photography and the story of Northern Cape farm labourer, Jan Pieriga.
