Small Group Discovery Experience
The 'Small-Group Discovery Experience' is a pedagogical approach and a key component of the University of Adelaide's Beacon of Enlightenment pedagogy.
Based upon the values and practices of the Humboldt Model, the 'Small-Group Discovery Experience' places importance upon collaboration between students and researchers and working together in small groups to make new discoveries.
Through the Beacon of Enlightenment strategy, the university has made a commitment to increase the centrality of small-group learning, in which students work together with a staff mentor in pursuit of new discovery.
As a part of the Beacon of Enlightenment approach, the University of Adelaide has committed to provide all students commencing in 2014 with a Small-Group discovery experience in at least one course, every year of their degree.
