6.3. Items related to William Crook’s Marquesan grammar and dictionary

• Marquesan grammar and dictionary [transcript by Hughes (1949) of a manuscript work by William Crook, compiled in the Marquesas in 1797-99 and held in the London Missionary Society Library in London until transfer to the School of Oriental and African Studies as part of the archives of the Congregational Council for World Mission. Limited edition (100 copies) of both the grammar (plus the Lord's Prayer in Tahitian) and the dictionary were published by Hughes in 1956 for private circulation, and reprinted in 1994 (by Gwasg Gwenffrwd).]
