Biography

Jeff Scott's association with the University of Adelaide was an extensive and extended one, enrolling in 1943 and completing a Bachelors Degree in Law, followed by Economics in 1955. He would later complete a Honours Degree in Politics from 1965-1966.

As a student he was an active member of many clubs and societies on campus, including the Footlights Club, Students' Representative Council, International Relations Club and the Arts Association. In the late 1940's and early 1950's he was the leading exponent of liberal, democratic ideas.

In 1950 he was appointed as an Administrative Assistant in the Registrar's Department, a position he held for more than a year. In the early 1960's Jeff lectured in mercantile law at the South Australian Institute of Technology. In 1964 he returned to the University to work as a Tutor in Politics. In 1967 he took up the position of Lecturer in Politics, after which he was promoted to a Senior Lectureship in 1974 until his retirement in 1985.

As a member of the Footlights Club he performed in Footlight's Revues from 1948-1959, performing in the Tivoli Theatre. In 2006 he returned to the stage, performing in the Footlight's Revue "Be Your Age", and then again in 2008 and 2010, 2012. He passed away September 17, 2013.
