5.1. PhD
In the 1960s Jiří commenced research towards a PhD on ‘The Oboe, historical, technical and critical considerations.’ He later changed his research to concentrate on the aesthetical aspect of oboe performance (see letter to Christian Schneider 16/10/1973 in PhD correspondence/questionnaire file)
