1.2 Australian little magazines 1923-1954

Correspondence relating to research for and publication of his M.A. thesis, “Australian little magazines 1923-1954”, including a copy of the published book and typescripts of radio talk (August 1955) and paper presented to MLA Conference (Brisbane 1955). Includes 1996 correspondence with Bettina Cummins re her husband’s (Bill Cummins) little magazine “Yesterday & most of today” with draft chapter on its history. Also reviews and citations and a radio interview on Radio Australia’s ‘The Creative Arts’ series (c1964). 1954-65 and 1991, 1996. 3 cm and 1 cassette tape

Contains notes, clippings and writings on little magazines and Australian literature in general, and material that relates to matters arising from the publication of the MA thesis in 1964 as “Australian little magazines 1923-1954: their role in forming and reflecting literary trends”. Includes:

  • Correspondence with John Reed (editor of Angry Penguins etc) on Tregenza’s interpretation of Angry Penguins
