The University of Adelaide has worked in partnership with the Australian defence sector for many years to give our armed forces an edge, and ultimately protect the safety, freedom and prosperity of the Australian people.

Our world-class researchers are leading or contributing to the discovery and application of valuable advances in a wide range of defence-related areas: from innovative submarine modelling technology and fighter-wing sensors, to AI visual analysis tools and service personnel's mental health.

We've also established strong relationships with prominent government organisations, such as the Defence Science and Technology (DST) Group, and are providing the sector with a constant supply of high-quality, highly skilled graduates.

In this detailed presentation, some of the University's leading researchers will briefly review this proud history, and highlight a number of exciting defence projects they have underway.

The presenters:

Professor Michael Webb is Director, Defence and Security at the University of Adelaide, and Deputy Director (Defence) at its Centre for Defence Communications and Information Networking.

Associate Professor Bruce Northcote directs the University of Adelaide's Centre for Defence Communications Information Networking, and its Teletraffic Research Centre.

Associate Professor Katrina Falkner heads the University of Adelaide School of Computer Science.
