Date/Time: Sunday, 22 January 2017, 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm

Location: Capri Cinema, 141 Goodwood Road, Goodwood

In support of the Friends of Urrbrae House, the Friends of the Waite Arboretum and the Friends of the Waite Conservation Reserve, you are invited to the film fundraising event: "A United Kingdom". This film opened the BFI Film Festival London 2016 and has been receiving excellent reviews.

Directed by Amma Asante, this film stars David Oyelowo and Rosamund Pike. The film tells the inspiring true story of Seretse Khama, the King of Bechuanaland (modern Botswana) and Ruth Williams, the London office worker he married in 1948 in the face of fierce opposition from their families and the British and South African governments.

Seretse and Ruth defied family, apartheid and empire - their love triumphed over every obstacle flung in their path and in so doing they transformed their nation and inspired the world.

This fundraising event will commence at 3pm for refreshments and raffle, followed by Wurlitzer Organ at 3:45pm. The film will screen 4pm.

Tickets are $20 per person which includes a glass of wine, beer or soft drink. Tickets can be arranged with Bill Wallace by emailing billwallace01@gmail.com or phoning 8332 6495 or 0403 745 404
