Rarely heard in their true glory, the rich hues of the tuba are revealed in Vaughan Williams’ remarkable concerto, brimming with the unexpected. Adelaide composer Adam Rybovic unveils a new work, and one of Haydn’s most joyous symphonies adds its clearer, brighter colours to a palette of contrast and complement.
