We invite you to our second Health Matters lecture for 2018: Is Sugar the New Tobacco? A First Glimpse at Sugar Industry Documents, presented by Dr Cristin Kearns

Curbing consumption of added sugars is a significant public health challenge. Public health experts are advocating for polices, such as a sugar tax, amidst fierce opposition from the food and beverage industry. Increasingly, parallels are being drawn between the sugar industry and the tobacco industry.

Dr. Cristin Kearns, an American dentist, has uncovered previously secret sugar industry documents that shed new light on the industry's activities. Join her to learn about what's inside the sugar industry's filing cabinets.
