South Australia's History Festival 2019 Manager's Choice Guided Tours

Join the Roseworthy Agricultural Museum Manager for an exclusive nitty-gritty tour of select equipment, providing demonstrations of the machinery in action and revealing how they helped shape the history of our state. The free guided tours are from 1:00 - 2:00 pm on Wednesday 8 May, Sunday 19 May, and Wednesday 29 May 2019 at the Museum.
The Roseworthy Agricultural Museum, established in 1976, showcases vintage farm implements, working tractors, and stationary engines with an emphasis on the evolution of farming methods and Roseworthy Agricultural College history. The collection covers the many subjects taught at the College over the years including Dairy, Winemaking, Horticulture, and Agriculture. On display is a working half-scale stripper, made by JG Ramsey of Mt Barker and first exhibited at the 1878 Paris World Fair, a model of the James Martin Phoenix Foundry in Gawler, and a working model of a 1908 Saunderson tractor, the first tractor used in South Australia.
