Presenters:
Dr Stephen Warren-Smith, School of Physical Sciences
Dr Warren-Smith returned to Adelaide in 2016 from the Institute of Photonic Technology in Germany. As a Ramsay Fellow in the School of Physical Sciences, Dr Warren-Smith develops very fine optical fibres with a range of potential industrial and diagnostic imaging applications.
Dr Stephanie Watts-Williams, School of Agriculture, Food and Wine
Dr Watts-Williams is investigating how fungi can improve the zinc nutrition of plants with particular focus on uncovering the molecular mechanisms. Originally from Melbourne, the Ramsay Fellowship brought Dr Watts-Williams back to Australia from the Boyce Thompson Institute for Plant Research at Cornell University, New York.
The Ramsay Fellowship was established in 2008 with a significant bequest from the Ramsay family to support outstanding young Australian scientists and enhance their potential as future scientific leaders. The four-year Fellowships encourage Australian scientists working overseas to return home.
