Free Debate to celebrate 125th birthday

December is the month when Adelaide Uni celebrates its 125th Birthday! You can help us celebrate by taking part in a free public debate.

Six of Australia's public figures will debate the issue "That Ideology Is Dead".

Lord Mayor of Adelaide Dr Jane Lomax-Smith will lead the team for the affirmative, which includes academic and writer Professor Humphrey McQueen and the Director of the SA Museum, Dr Tim Flannery.

Prominent Jesuit lawyer Father Frank Brennan will lead the team for the negative, including Labor MP Mr Mark Latham and Federal Justice Minister Senator Amanda Vanstone.

The debate will be chaired by Dame Roma Mitchell.

Members of the public are encouraged to attend the event, which will be filmed by ABC television for broadcast at a later date.
