Bright picture for ICT careers

Wednesday, 12 September 2007

There has never been a better time to study computer science and information technology degrees. That's the view of the Google Australian and New Zealand Director of Engineering Presentation, Alan Noble, who will be speaking at a special event for school students and parents at the University of Adelaide on Friday 14 September.

Mr Noble is a graduate of the University of Adelaide and went on to study for a Masters in Computer Science at Stanford University.

On Friday he will be discussing how the landscape for commerce and the Internet is set to change, and the significant opportunities that will be available to students graduating from ICT degrees.

"Australia's universities are contributing to a highly talented local IT community," Mr Noble said. "This is a major reason that Google established an R&D centre in Australia, in which Australian engineers develop global products that are used by millions. There has never been a better time to study computer science. There are fantastic opportunities available to present and future students in this field."
