Adelaide's new breakfast radio blasts off!

Radio Adelaide's exciting new program Breakfast with Lisa Leong and Jonathan Lucraft launches tomorrow morning (Wednesday, March 2) by sprawling out of the studio and onto the North Terrace pavement!

New breakfast host Lisa Leong is a tiny dynamo with a career that includes working as a lawyer in Australia and England and experience in hospital, community and commercial radio. Lisa presents from 6.30am to 9am every Monday to Thursday, with longstanding breakfast favourite Jonathan Lucraft hosting on Fridays.

From 8.30am tomorrow (Wednesday), Lisa will bound out of the studio to present the show "stand-up style" with a great range of special guests and our own House Band!

With his eye on North Terrace's new streetscape, engaging University of Adelaide urban ecologist Chris Daniels will discuss the dilemma of Adelaide's ageing street trees. Most were planted more than 70 years ago.

House band The Audreys serve up their folky rootsy style, just prior to their debut appearance at Womadelaide this weekend. This four-piece is fronted by 'angel-voiced' Tasha Coates and combines an appealing mix of acoustic instruments from steel guitar banjo to mandocello and toy store instruments.

And our in-house rapper DJ Frost will be given three key words from the day's news at 8.30am, and the challenge to construct a rap around them by 9am. Last week he worked his magic with pineapple, footy and scrap-booking. What will Wednesday's show throw at him?

Lisa Leong says "We've also got some 'surprise teacups', fair trade coffee and tea, croissants, danishes, and even champagne! It will be a great morning for listeners at home or at Radio Adelaide".

"We believe our show is Adelaide's best alternative for local national and international currents affairs, culture, ideas and issues for us in our city and a great wide world of music."
