John M Coetzee 80th Birthday Celebration

The University of Adelaide is proud to host a formal event in Elder Hall with music performances, tributes and readings to honour and celebrate John M Coetzee in his 80th year, followed by book signing in Elder Hall Foyer.

John Maxwell Coetzee is Professor of Literature in the Department of English and Creative Writing in the School of Humanities at the University of Adelaide. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2003. His books include: Scenes from Provincial Life: Boyhood, Youth, Summertime; Waiting for the Barbarians; Life & Times of Michael K; Disgrace and the trilogy The Childhood, The Schooldays and The Death of Jesus among others. 

Registration is essential for attendance in person. Capacity limits have applied to this event in order to safely adhere to social distancing protocols. This event will also be livestreamed.
