Celia Craig and Friends

Celia Craig holding an Oboe

Friends of the Library in association with the Elder Conservatorium present a benefit recital in the heritage Barr Smith Library Reading Room - a one-off not to be missed musical experience for the long weekend.

Celia Craig, former Principal Oboe of Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, joined by friends of her own: ASO’s new Principal Oboe, her former student, Josh Oates; soprano and Elder Conservatorium staff member Rosalind Martin; Caspar Hawksley, guitarist, composer, and recent Elder graduate. Program includes: Telemann - Sonata in E minor TWV104 for two oboes (1727), Britten - Six Metamorphoses after Ovid (1952), R Vaughan Williams - Blake Songs for Voice and Oboe (1957), C. Hawksley - Cherry Waltz (Musica Viva commission) (2021).

Profits go toward the Barr Smith Library and The Jiri Tancibudek Memorial Scholarship for Oboe.
