Study Tours & Short Programs
Dreaming of a white Christmas, or want to switch the Australian winter for a beautiful European Summer?
If a semester long exchange or study abroad is not for you, but you still want an international study experience and a way to fast track your degree, then a study tour or summer/winter school could be ideal! International Summer and Winter Schools are short study sessions offered by overseas institutions, where you can take intensive courses for credit across a variety of disciplines.
This page showcases current study tour and short program opportunities available to Professions Students, it also includes information about Study Abroad opportunities and how to register your own program for credit.
To see what our current students are up to overseas, visit our Professions Study Tour blog.

Financial assistance for study overseas could be available to you through OS-Help, the Global Learning Travel Grant or through a variety of scholarships. For updated information visit the Global Learning Funding page.
Once you have selected an appropriate institution or program, the next step is to apply through the Global Learning Application System (GLAS).
Self Reporting Programs
Can't find an opportunity above but still want to have an international experience, why not self-report your study abroad?
Below is information regarding international internships or visit the Global Learning Website to see what other self-reporting opportunities are available.
- International Internships & Placements
For students looking for additional support in organising an overseas experience, third party providers are companies that specialise in overseas study programs around the world. Choose from their suite of programs, and they'll take care of the arrangements for you (inclusions vary). Providers may offer internships, placements, volunteer opportunities, and study abroad programs.
Please note that students will not be enrolled at the University of Adelaide when completing these study abroad opportunities and this may affect payments from Centrelink.
New Colombo Plan Funding available for selected programs!
Apply to the third party provider first and receive acceptance into the program. You will then need to register your program through the Global Learning Application System and request faculty approval.
