Message from the Executive Dean
I’m delighted to return “home” to the University’s Faculty of the Professions – this time, in the role of Executive Dean.
I’ve been part of this Faculty and the Adelaide Law School for 21 years now and have never really left, even when I took up the role of Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research Operations) and Dean of Graduate Studies in 2015.
I was Dean of the Adelaide Law School from 2011 to 2015, and from 2011 onwards I’ve been Director of the South Australian Law Reform Institute based here at the University.
I look forward to using my time as Executive Dean to contribute to the University’s core mission: quality teaching, relevant research, and contributing value to our wider community.
My priority for what’s left of 2018 will be to listen to the Faculty’s wide networks of businesses, industry groups and friends – our alumni, advisory groups and strategic partners – as well as its internal community of staff and students, to understand how we can maximise our contribution to this mission.
I look forward to working with our community to realise these contributions in 2019.
Professor John Williams
Executive Dean, Faculty of the Professions
