Professions celebrates IDAHOBIT 2019

The Faculty of the Professions Diversity and Inclusion Committee is dedicated to ensuring our students gain an enhanced sense of community and belonging in a positive environment.

On Friday, 17 May the Faculty of the Professions celebrated the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Interphobia & Transphobia (IDAHOBIT) to show our support of the LGBTIQ community. Over the week, we displayed a rainbow paper chain-links in the Nexus 10 Foyer as a visual symbol of support, with students and staff contributing to the installation.

On Friday, we heard from the Faculty Executive Dean, John Williams; Convenor of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee, Duygu Yengin; and President of the Pride Club, Joanna Barry-Murphy. We celebrated with our staff and students by wearing rainbow pins and enjoying glitter rainbow cupcakes!
Here at the Faculty of the Professions, we stand with our LGBTI mates.
