Series 1135 - Camtech Records

Date Range1998 - 2001
Quantity110 cm, 7 boxes

Camtech was established in 1983 as part of the infrastructure of a Centre of Excellence at the University, its name being a contraction of "Campus Technology". It became an independently incorporated information technology and telecommunications business, owned by the Luminis Investment Trust of which the University was the beneficiary. In 2000 it was restructured as two units, Electronic Commerce and Professional Services, and expanded its operations to New Zealand, Malaysia and the United States. This involved selling some of the University's / Luminis's interest in the company to raise the necessary capital.
This series contains records compiled by Tony Siebert, Executive Director of Finance and Infrastructure, who was also appointed a Director of Camtech in 1998. They include Camtech working files, Camtech Board meeting papers and files on Camtech Cornerstone Investment and the Camtech Divestment Committee.
