Student Opportunities

Under the supervision of an Institute Research Leader, you could become a student member of the Robinson Research Institute by undertaking Honours or a PhD across a variety of areas in reproduction, pregnancy or child health.

Using the knowledge gained while at the Institute, many students have successfully pursued careers in research and academia, while others have careers in science communication, or a range of industry positions in biotechnology companies and fertility clinics.

  • Honours

    The Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences offer Honours positions to outstanding students. By selecting an honours opportunity under the supervision of an Institute Research Leader you can become a RRI student member.

    Undertaking honours provides you with the skills and experience to pursue different career opportunities. Employers recognise the skills developed during honours at the University of Adelaide, equip graduates for challenging and diverse roles in industry, government and business, as well as in research and academia.

  • PhD

    By undertaking a PhD, you will be involved in discovery, innovation and cutting-edge research. Our strong focus on addressing global challenges creates a highly stimulating setting for postgraduate students interested in changing the world.

    By undertaking a PhD under the supervision of an Institute Research Leader you can become a RR student member.

    A PhD allows you to specialise and extend your knowledge in a research area of your choice. As part of the South Australian Health and Biomedical Precinct, the University of Adelaide offers significant state-of-the-art core technologies capabilities and facilities enabling students to provide innovative solutions to their research questions.

  • Scholarships

    The Institute offers two Honours scholarships to outstanding students:

    Jeffrey Robinson Scholarship

    Named after Emeritus Professor Jeffrey Robinson, for whom the Institute is named after, this scholarship is offered to a top performing student who commences their honours year under the supervision of an Institute Research Leader. This scholarship provides a financial contribution to the recipient.

    Repromed Reproductive Health Scholarship

    Since 2016, the Institute has partnered with Repromed offer this scholarship. Again, this scholarship is awarded to a top student completing their honours year under the supervision of an Institute Research Leader, and provides a financial contribution. Repromed are a South Australian fertility treatment company offering a complete range of fertility treatments and options.
