IDAHOBIT Day

Each year the University of Adelaide’s ALLY Network and Gender, Equity and Diversity Committee celebrate International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT).

Hands with rainbow paint

This year to demonstrate that we stand with the LGBTIQ* community, a visual symbol of solidarity was displayed in NEXUS 10 and HUB Centre. Students and staff were asked to contribute to the event by adding paper chain-links to the displays.

Formal proceedings were held on Thursday 17th May at 2pm and included an address by:

  • Uncle Rodney O'Brien - Welcome to Country
  • Professor Peter Rathjen, Vice-Chancellor and President
  • ALLY Network representative
  • Pride Club President
