Vice-Chancellor's message
Our University has a proud, almost 150-year history of excellence and discovery and continues to be a significant contributor to our state. We haven’t achieved this by standing still – we have made changes over the years to ensure that we can remain a strong, history-making institution into the future.
2022 University Award recipients
Congratulations to all outstanding recipients, nominees, and candidates of the 2022 University Awards.
Emerging Artist of the Year Award
Pianist Shawn Hui, current Bachelor of Music (Honours) student at the Elder Conservatorium of Music, was awarded the Emerging Artist of the Year Award at the 2022 Adelaide Critics Circle Awards. Shawn has performed widely as a Recitals Australia Fellowship Artist in 2022.
Staff Complaint Resolution Procedure
The Staff Complaint Resolution Procedure has been reviewed and updated in line with the Sexual Misconduct Policy and Response Procedure that came into effect 30 November. Carving out sexual misconduct from the staff complaint resolution procedure, confirms the Integrity Unit as a reporting pathway for staff complaints, and includes updated links and reference information.
University Council Elections
Professor Joanne Bowen and Mr Lachlan Coleman have been elected to the University Council for a two-year term from 6 March 2023 - 5 March 2025. More information
Call for submissions
The Saltbush Review is seeking submissions of short fiction, poetry, and creative non-fiction of up to 3,000 words on the theme of ‘Intersections’. The journal is affiliated with the JM Coetzee Centre for Creative Practice. This project is funded by Arts SA and contributors will be paid for their work. Deadline is 20 January 2023. Legal Compliance Policy
The updated Legal Compliance Policy has been approved by Council and came into effect 7 December. Additional definitions of key compliance risk concepts, including of threshold considerations of what constitutes material breaches has been added to support assessment of risk and inform reporting obligations. Volunteer achievement awards
Congratulations to Steven Pinhorn - Volunteer of the Year, Kimberley Handley and Xusheng Li - joint winners of Student Volunteer of the Year, Career Access Mentoring Program volunteers - Student Volunteer Group of the Year, and TERN Surveillance volunteers - Community Volunteer Group of the Year.
