Executive Dean's message
Work environments can be complex, and human relationships even more so. It is helpful to refresh our knowledge on how these complexities can arise in our everyday work, and the best ways to respond.
This is why the University is implementing mandatory Ethics and Integrity training, led by the University’s Integrity Unit and supported by Transforming Culture.
The training consists of four online courses:
- Working with Integrity
- Conflict of Interest
- Understanding Power Dynamics and Close Personal Relationships
- Sexual Harassment and Sexual Assault – what are the drivers and how can staff respond.
Staff are being enrolled in this training as part of a staged roll-out, with the timing and approach directed by each Faculty and Division. Where possible, tailored workshops are also being offered to share learnings in the context of respective work areas. You will receive further information as the training is scheduled for your area. It’s fantastic to see that to date, over 500 staff have started the training.
The Ethics and Integrity courses are being delivered via a new MyLearning staff learning management system. MyLearning enables staff to easily receive training notifications and to access and track their learning. Supervisors will also have access to improved reporting. There will be a phased implementation of MyLearning to streamline and manage all staff learning over time. MyLearning integrates with MyUni and does not replace the use of MyUni for student learning.

The training and launch of MyLearning are some of the final deliverables of the Transforming Culture Program and I look forward to sharing more outcomes from the Program as it reaches its close.
