Parental leave engagement
As part of the Future Employee Experience work for Adelaide University, we are pleased to offer an engagement opportunity where we will be exploring the topic of parental leave. We are seeking input from staff who have returned from parental leave within the last 12-18 months.
We value input and insights about your experience and what you feel might support our people as we look to what a future experience may look like for Adelaide University. Insights from the session will be taken forward into a co-design workshop with staff to design what a future parental leave journey could be for Adelaide University.
We are offering participation in two ways:
1: In-Person Focus Group
A small focus group session for staff to share their experiences in relation to Parental Leave.
- These sessions will include a small group of 8-12 staff from both University of Adelaide and University of South Australia.
- The session will be facilitated by a member of the project team.
- Information about the questions to be discussed will be provided in advance.
- Designated time will be given to all attendees to introduce themselves and speak about their perspectives and/or experiences with Parental Leave

The sessions have been intentionally designed to provide a safe and respectful space for participants. Staff will have an opportunity to speak about their experiences and what can be improved towards inclusivity for all.
2: a Survey
This survey is aimed at capturing experiences, perspectives and feedback from staff who have returned from parental leave in the last 12-18 months. The survey is confidential and can be accessed here
