Deputy Vice-Chancellor's message

The University is proud to champion transformative approaches to learning and teaching which impact the lives of our students and their communities.
Next week we will explore these innovations in depth at the Festival of Learning and Teaching—an event designed to inspire curiosity, drive innovation, and empower both staff and students to meet the evolving demands of education and society.
This Festival enables our staff and students to engage in meaningful conversations about enhancing student learning, strengthen teaching practice, and navigate the opportunities and challenges as we transition to Adelaide University.
The program allows participants to connect with colleagues through the lively Marketplace of Ideas, interactive workshops, and thought-provoking presentations—all offering practical insights and strategies for transforming learning and teaching.
I am delighted to welcome Professor Chi Baik from the University of Melbourne as our keynote speaker. A leading voice in higher education and the importance of wellbeing for learning, Professor Baik will share perspectives on transformation in learning and teaching, helping to frame the critical conversations we must have as educators, leaders, and collaborators. Professor Baik’s keynote will be followed by a live Q&A session.
Whether you are attending in person or online, don’t miss being part of a vibrant community committed to educational excellence and innovation. Register now and view the program.
I look forward to seeing you there.
Professor Jennie Shaw
Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (Academic)
