I congratulate the worthy recipients of our 2025 University Awards for Outstanding Achievement, and all of our colleagues who contribute to excellence at our fine university. Thank you also to the award category selection panels for their careful consideration of all applications, and the final selection committee under the leadership of Professor Laura Parry, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research Excellence).

I enjoyed the award ceremony and took the opportunity to thank all nominees and their nominators. I know the judging panel had plenty of quality nominations to choose from – which is a good thing!

It is an honour to work, every day, with such talented people: our combined efforts clearly demonstrate that together we can achieve excellence, and have goals and aspirations that will lead us resolutely into the future.
