Whether you’re confident in your writing or just getting started, our friendly Learning Advisors are here to support you. Not sure what kind of help you need? That’s okay! Drop in for warm, welcoming, judgement-free advice on writing, English communication, and academic skills.
We support students from all programs and disciplines — whether you're tackling a literature review, trying to make your writing flow, developing your reflective writing, or using academic sources, we’re here to help.
Want a quiet space to work on your academic writing with the support of a Learning Advisor? The Writing Centre has drop-in sessions available on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10 am - 4 pm, where Learning Advisors are present to answer your questions. Wednesdays offer drop-in only, and Thursdays have drop-in alongside appointment bookings. Study with people in your courses at Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS)
PASS sessions are available to help you in a broad range of subject areas. Experienced students facilitate weekly 50-minute study sessions, where you can discuss key concepts in your courses. Classes are free, fun and a great way to make new friends. Visit the PASS website for more information.
Are you an international student wanting to build your communication skills for success at university?
If so, register now for The English Assist Program and participate in workshops that will help you to fully engage in your studies and confidently communicate with your lecturers, tutors, and other students. Free to all international coursework students.
Are you a Master’s by research or PhD student?
Join the HDR Writing Bees to connect with other students and work on your thesis in a supportive environment. It doesn’t matter what stage you are at in your degree. Sessions run for three hours. Please bring a fully-charged laptop or other device to work on during these sessions. Visit the Writing Centre website to register for a session.
Do you enjoy doing puzzles and playing games?
The Maths Learning Centre runs weekly art/puzzle/game sessions called One Hundred Factorial every Wednesday from 12 - 2 pm, level 4 Hub Central or level 3 Hub Central just outside the Maths Learning Centre (check the sign on Level 3 Hub Central on the day). It’s a time when anyone can join in and use mathematical thinking in a playful and friendly setting without being assessed or judged. Come along and join in the fun!
