Local eats: Veggie Vie

As someone who likes to eat healthy and plant-based throughout the day, I’ve often been unsatisfied with the range of available options in the Adelaide CBD for food that is quick, reasonably priced, and above all, delicious. That is, until I discovered Veggie Vie.

Located in Regent Arcade (connecting Grenfell St and Rundle Mall), Veggie Vie offers an all vegan menu that features your café staples, like coffee (with an extensive range of plant based mylks), and a variety of freshly-baked cookies, cakes, and protein balls. Where it distinguishes itself, however, is with its array of lunch options, including customisable smoothies, salads (which are actually fresh and satisfying), plant-based burgers, and house-made chips. They also offer a number of hot meal options which change daily and can be enjoyed dining in or to take away if you’re on the go, making it a perfect pit-stop between classes or during your lunch break. The food is hearty and delicious, the staff are generous and accommodating, and it’s become my number one option for when I need something that I know will satisfy my cravings (i.e. when I need a cookie).

What’s more, Veggie Vie is a small business that has grown from a hole-in-the-wall pop-up to a spacious and inviting café. Its success is a testament to the staff's commitment to producing high-quality, accessible plant-based food that can be enjoyed by both vegans and non-vegans alike.

So next time you’re out and about, give Veggie Vie a go. Like me, you’ll be hooked.
