Special Tertiary Admissions Test

The Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT) is a two-hour, multiple-choice test designed to assess a range of skills and knowledge needed to study with us.

The South Australian Tertiary Admissions Centre Link to external website (SATAC) coordinates the STAT as well as subsequent tertiary program applications. To sit the test, you'll need to be over 18 years old before 1 February in the year that you wish to commence study. If you have been enrolled in the last two years, you must not have done more than two years (full-time) tertiary study in total.

STAT sittings are available throughout the year in Adelaide and several times per year in other locations - see the SATAC website Link to external website for details.

Additional information about the STAT test Link to external website can be found on the Australian Council for Educational Research website.

Please note that the STAT Written English test is not considered as a means of entry to the University of Adelaide.

All applicants via the STAT pathway must also meet any subject prerequisites for University of Adelaide programs.
