    The Master of Marine Engineering at Adelaide offers a comprehensive 1.5-year degree co-taught with ASC offering a variety of specialised coursework electives and study options giving you flexibility to pursue your interests and achieve your career goals.

    The core courses of the Marine Engineering degree, Submarine Design and Systems Engineering, will be delivered intensively (1 to 2 weeks), allowing students to complete these core courses in half a year. This new intensive mode of study has been designed with busy working professionals in mind, allowing students to complete the degree in steps with a Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma qualification.

    Graduate Entry: Completed Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) program or evidence of formal qualifications and professional work experience, providing equivalent learning outcomes.

    A faster path to defence

    Fast-track your studies and gain a qualification in only six months with our Graduate Certificate in Marine Engineering, or gain deeper skills and insights with our 12-month Graduate Diploma in Marine Engineering. The core courses, co-taught with ASC which include Submarine Design and Systems Engineering, will be delivered intensively (1 to 2 weeks), so you can balance a busy lifestyle with your study.

    Marine engineering degrees are structured so that you can complete them in steps; from the Graduate Certificate, to the Graduate Diploma and the Master of Marine Engineering in 1.5 years.

  • Dual Master of Marine Engineering with ENSTA Bretagne

    As part of the marine engineering program, the University of Adelaide is offering the opportunity to undertake a dual 1.5-year Master of Marine Engineering program at the University of Adelaide and ENSTA Bretagne in France. Students spend one semester in Brest, France, one semester in Adelaide and a third semester in a jointly-supervised industry internship. The new dual program will feed directly in to the defence engineering skills base available to South Australia and France. You will be awarded two internationally-recognised qualifications – a Master of Marine Engineering from the University of Adelaide and a Master of Science in Marine Engineering, Surface Ships and Submarines from ENSTA Bretagne.

    Courses will be taught in English, and as an added bonus you will learn French as part of this innovative new program, so you will be ready to take on a world of career opportunities!
