Audio Visual Refresh in North Terrace Campus – Hartley Building Common Teaching Space

As part of work being done to maintain excellence in learning and teaching, and continuing the extensive Audio Visual (AV) upgrade work completed last year in common teaching spaces across the Waite, Roseworthy and North Terrace campuses, the 2024 AV Refresh project is pleased to announce the AV improvement works to occur in the North Terrace Campus – Hartley 122A common teaching space.

IT Security Alert - Booking.com holiday booking scam

ITDS have received reports that some Booking.com customers have been targeted by a hotel booking scam where scammers hijack hotels’ Booking.com accounts and use them to trick guests into sharing their payment card information.

Audio Visual Refresh coming soon to North Terrace Campus Lower Napier Common Teaching Areas

In July 2023 the project team consulted with Academics who use the common teaching areas in Lower Napier to gain their feedback on the proposed layout and placement of new LCD screens and whiteboards in the rooms. The new screens can display high-quality images, videos, slides and other multimedia content, and the whiteboards can be used in conjunction with the screens for writing notes, drawing diagrams and brainstorming ideas. This will combine the convenience and versatility of digital technology with the simplicity and flexibility of traditional writing tools.

Audio Visual Asset Refresh - priority University common teaching areas cameras soon to be upgraded

The Audio Visual (AV) Asset Refresh project has identified priority common teaching areas for upgrade during 2023. This activity will occur across the North Terrace, Roseworthy, and Waite campuses.

CloudStor is being decommissioned

As of December 2023, AARNet are ceasing the operation of their CloudStor storage solution. The University of Adelaide staff & students storing vital information in CloudStor will need to find an alternate file storage and collaboration platform prior to CloudStor being decommissioned. It is the responsibility of the person who stored their files on CloudStor to remove them.

Scam Alert! “Contact Microsoft to unlock your computer” and other remote access scams

There has been a significant increase in users reporting unexpected popups on their University of Adelaide devices stating that Microsoft has detected a virus on their device and that they should call the number displayed to receive assistance. This is most often triggered by clicking on a malicious link sent by email or from a website.
