Established in 1874, the University of Adelaide is the third oldest university in Australia. It has a rich history to explore and promises a sparkling future to share.
Since 2004 University Collections (formerly Art & Heritage Collections) has managed the university's collections; researching, documenting and preserving them in collaboration with academic disciplines across all campuses. In the last collections audit over 40 University collections were identified, each revealing facets of the University's history.
The collections of the University of Adelaide enrich the university environment, support its teaching and research programs, and provide a resource for students, staff and the community. The university aspires to promote personal and electronic access to the collections and encourages community outreach and interaction.
A team of dedicated museum professionals looks after and promotes the collections, running a public program of events to showcase the creativity and expertise of the academic cohort and engage with the broader community. University Collections invite you to enjoy our diverse and stimulating Cultural Program.
The University Collections' office will be closed from Thursday 20th December 2018 and will reopen on Monday 7th January 2019. We thank you all for your support throughout 2018 and look forward to seeing you in 2019. All the best for the festive season!
