Student Amassadors play an important role for the University by engaging with the community and industry through outreach activities and promotional events.

  • Ambassador for Adelaide Graduate Award

    Volunteers in the Adelaide Graduate Award Student Ambassador Program play an important role in promoting and raising the profile of the Adelaide Graduate Award and its benefits for student employability. Ambassadors support recruitment efforts by sharing their first-hand student experience of participating in the Adelaide Graduate Award with current and prospective students.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide support to the Adelaide Graduate Award team by promoting the program to current and prospective students
    • Participate in events and information sessions
    • Share your firsthand student experience of the program with current and prospective students
    • Contribute significantly to the success of the program

    Who can apply?

    Applicants must be a current student who has completed or is enrolled in the Adelaide Graduate Award. Must be friendly, confident, well presented, articulate, reliable, punctual, culturally aware and committed to the program and contribute at least seven hours per semester.

  • Ambassador for Faculty of Engineering, Computer & Mathematical Sciences (ECMS)

    As an ECMS Ambassador, you will have the opportunity to contribute to a number of areas, including: 

    • engagement in the community and industry
    • outreach activities
    • promotional events

    Participating in the program will also allow you to stand out against competing graduates, as it will help you to develop your communication and leadership skills.

    Responsibilities

    • To welcome students and give school groups an event overview
    • To engage with students during ECMS activities
    • To assist students to complete activities
    • To encourage conversations around higher education and careers in STEM
    • To act as an ambassador for the Faculty of ECMS
    • To engage with students during ECMS activities
    • Managing groups of prospective students at events
    • To chaperone students around campus
    • To assist with event set-up and pack down (putting out signage, setting up rooms, pack down after events)
    • To assist the event coordinator and direct and support fellow volunteers and ambassadors.
    • Events run throughout the semester, usually with a time commitment of four hours.

    Who can apply?

    Applicants must be a current ECMS student with an interest in working with primary and high school students. Have excellent communication skills, reliable, punctual and committed to the program. Volunteers can nominate which events they would like to assist with.

  • Ambassador for Faculty of Sciences Student Recruitment

    The Faculty of Sciences' Marketing and Student Recruitment Team has established a student ambassador program as part of its recruitment activities. This program provides selected current Science students with the opportunity to share their experiences and advice with future students to promote and raise aspirations for studying Science at the University of Adelaide.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide assistance to the Faculty of Sciences Marketing & Student Recruitment Team to promote the range of programs available
    • Create greater awareness of the Faculty of Sciences' services, programs and unique attributes among secondary school students by speaking abut your university experiences
    • Participate in presentations at high schools/career events to students, parents and teachers
    • Represent the Faculty of Sciences at major domestic student recruitment events and activities (such as Open Day and Science Alive)
    • Represent the Faculty of Sciences in promotional material (e.g. testimonial and photograph on the Faculty website)

    Who can apply?

    Applicants must be a current Sciences student with an interest in working with primary and high school students. Have excellent communication skills, reliable, punctual and committed to the program for at lease one semester.

  • Ambassador for Global IQ Connect

    Volunteers in the Global IQ Connect Student Ambassador Program play an important role in promoting and raising the profile of this program by promoting its benefits to fellow students. They support the Global Experience team's recruitment efforts by sharing their first-hand student experience of the program with current and prospective students.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide support to the Global IQ Connect team by promoting the program to current and prospective students
    • Participate in events and information sessions for your respective Faculty
    • Share your firsthand student experience of the program with current and prospective students
    • Contribute significantly to the success of the program

    Who can apply?

    Applicants must be a current student who has participated in the Global IQ Connect Program, have excellent communication skills, be reliable, punctual and committed to the program for at least seven hours per semester.

  • Ambassador for Study Overseas Program

    The Study Overseas Ambassador program provides students who have undertaken an overseas study experience with an opportunity to promote overseas experiences to prospective students, act as ambassadors for their host university/overseas program, and provide assistance at Study Overseas and PVCI events as needed, enhancing the experience of event attendees and providing valuable input into events from a student perspective.

    Responsibilities

    • social media engagement
    • setting up/packing up at events
    • participating in panel discussions
    • giving oral presentations of your overseas experience
    • engaging with international visitors from partner universities

    Who can apply?

    Applicants must be a current student who has completed at least one Study Overseas experience. Must be friendly, confident, well presented, articulate, reliable, punctual, culturally aware and committed to at least three activities per year.
