  • Biography/ Background

    Mental health counsellor

    I have been a counsellor at the university since 2013. I have a keen interest in issues which affect tertiary students stemming from my work in academia and research. I have extensive experience working in academic cultures. I've previously worked in various universities in medicine, health and social research, and health curricula development. My research includes a doctorate on the mental health behaviours of tertiary students and young adults. I also have a background in information technology, particularly database management and prorgramming, which I utilise in part of my role within Student Life.  

     

    Academic work

    I maintain some contact with students in an academic capacity in regards to supervision and examination. I also consult with staff and students in my area of health expertise.
