Research Interests
Dr. Wu has spent more than ten years of research work on explosion-induced vibrations and structural response to explosive loads as well as mitigation of blast effects on structures, beginning with his PhD research at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore in 1998. From 1998 to 2003, he worked on rock blasting and underground explosions as well as structural response under blast-induced ground vibrations. Recently Dr Wu's research at University of Adelaide focuses on the development of new technologies to improve the blast resistance of both new and existing structures. His specific research interests include:
Response of structures to underground blast induced ground vibrations;
Damage and collapse analysis of structures to surface blast loads;
Blast resistance of Ultra-High Performance concrete;
Mitigation of blast effects on RC and masonry structures;
Retrofit masonry structures against blast loads;
FRP confined concrete under impact loads;

The traffic barriers under vehicle impact.
