  • Biography/ Background

    Ms Dana Teusner is a Research Associate and PhD candidate with the Australian Research Centre for Population Oral Health (ARCPOH). Dana previously worked as a Business Systems Consultant and has background in data management and software development. She commenced working at ARCPOH in 1999 and has worked primarily on health surveillance projects such as the Dental Labour Force and the National Dental Telephone Interview Survey. During her time at ARCPOH Dana has developed numerous research and clinical oral examination data bases. Her PhD project focuses on the associations between insurance and dental service use. Currently she is working on dental practice activity, dental expenditure and service use projects under the supervision of Associate Professor David Brennan, funded by a NHMRC Centre for Research Excellence grant (Oral Health Services research). Current projects involve collaboration with researchers from the Centre for Health Economics (Monash) and the Center for Population Oral Health (Melbourne University).

    She has authored numerous AIHW DSRU reports, state government contracted reports and contributed to numerous peer reviewed journal articles.  She presents regularly at scientific meetings (dental research, public health and health services research conferences). She lectures and tutors in several courses (Bachelor of Dental Surgery and Bachelor of Oral Health programs).
