Biography/ Background

Dr Dean Bruton is an Australian artist, Senior Lecturer and Postgraduate Coordinator in

the field of Digital Media Art, Architecture and Design. He is responsible for developing the

Masters Digital Media Program in the School of Architecture, Landscape Architecture and

Urban Design at The University of Adelaide. This post-professional program offers the

Master of Design in Digital Media. The program uses a 'grammatical lens' to bring together

an exciting new collaborative interdisciplinary approach to the pedagogy and practice of

art and design with digital media. His specialist research interests include various aspects

of digital media production such as 3D animation for visualisation, online interactives and

computer game development. Cultural heritage, social online networking and historical

aspects of design and pracrtice with digital media production are part of his supervision for the

School PhD research program. He is a research member of the Australian Centre for Visual

Technology, CAADRIA, Creative Education Foundation, ASCILITE and Chair of the Adelaide

Chapter of ACM SIGGRAPH .
