Dr Evan Atlantis

Doctor Evan Atlantis is a Research Fellow at the School of Medicine, The University of Adelaide. He completed his undergraduate training in exercise physiology and was awarded a Ph.D. degree for his thesis titled ‘The effects of a worksite wellness program on psychological health and body fat outcomes: a randomized controlled trial' at The University of Sydney. He has now published 24 articles, 21 of which as first author, on clinical outcomes including mental health and chronic conditions. He has been Chief Investigator on successful NHMRC project and equipment grants awarded in 2009-12 totalling $1.8 million. In addition, he has established effective links with a number of national and international research groups. He is leading a research program on the management of depression, anxiety, and lifestyle risk factors associated with diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. He plans to establish and build a team of researchers in this exciting new area.
