Born in Augsburg, Germany, I completed my M.Sc in Econometrics at the University of Maastricht in 2003 and received my PhD in Economics (Economic History) from Yale University in 2009. Before joining the School of Economics in 2013 I was a Postdoctoral Research and Marie Curie Fellow at the University of Oxford.
