Dr Mario WernerBiography/ BackgroundMy broad and profound geological education enabled me to work on a colorful variety of academic research and industrial-commercial projects. Currently, I am a researcher and consultant within the Cooperative Research Centre for Greenhouse Gas Technologies (CO2CRC), with my activities focusing on reservoir & seal characterization and regional CO2 sequestration assessment. Prior to this I held the position of the Technical Assistant of the CO2CRC. I am based as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Australian School of Petroleum of the University of Adelaide, where I am also a member of the Reservoir Analogues Research Group (RARG). My main fields of expertise are sedimentology & stratigraphy, petrography & mineralogy, mapping & logging, as well as natural resources of all sorts. I gained considerable experience as a field geologist during my plentiful outdoor work in often remote regions under harsh conditions, balanced by ample breathing of lab air back home. As a lecturer at the Technical University of Aachen (RWTH) I also gained practical teaching experience. Further work experience includes the application of geophysical methods for numerous exploration, engineering, and environmental projects. In addition, I also assessed, proposed and described potential geological monument sites as a part of the natural heritage and conservation program of the Geological Survey of Germany.QualificationsDr. rer. nat.
