Welcome to the Discipline of General PracticeThe Discipline of General Practice is part of the School of Population Health and Clinical Practice within the University of Adelaide, based in the centre of Adelaide, South Australia. The Discipline organises clinical placements in general practice for undergraduate medical students in all of the 6th year and the recruitment of community based teachers for the Medical School, Spencer Gulf Rural Health School and rural and urban general practices. The Discipline has established skills and training sites for undergraduates, interns and postgraduates including general practice registrars. Established in 1995 the Discipline has been involved in teaching, research and consulting work, enhanced through managing and operating multi-professional general practices, which have a firm commitment to all aspects of high quality practice.
