Sounding the Future: Youth Composer Project

The Open Music Academy is on the lookout for the next generation of composers to be part of something extraordinary, creating an original piece and showcasing it as part of the Adelaide Festival 2024.

Participants will work with the dynamic jazz violinist, string arranger, and composer, Julian Ferraretto, to craft an original piece for the festival. Drawing inspiration from The Green Room, a community of science enthusiasts spreading positive stories about the natural world, this collective will serve as the creative muse for your final composition. Together, under the guidance of Julian Ferraretto and the inspiration from The Green Room, participants will bring a unique fusion of music and science to life for the festival.

The participants will perform the final piece during "Our Voices Our Dreams" on March 16, 2024.
