Creative experts deliver exclusive tour of Botanic light installations

Behind the Scenes in Adelaide Botanic Garden

Adelaide Botanic Gardens

The visionaries behind the sell-out light installations in Adelaide’s Botanic Gardens – part of the annual Illuminate Adelaide Festival – will reveal an exclusive peek behind-the-scenes of their latest after-dark experience, Resonate. This unique tour and presentation will guide audiences through the creative process of developing site-specific artworks. University of Adelaide experts will host two panels diving into diverse aspects of creative design.

This event explores the creative thought behind the utilisation of natural environments to deliver breath-taking art, digging deep into the artistic and imaginative approach needed to design site-specific installations to highlight natural features.

Canadian studio Moment Factory has delivered the sell-out phenomenon Light Cycles in Adelaide’s Botanic Gardens over the past two seasons. Their latest offering Resonate treats Adelaide audiences to a new night-time transformation of the iconic gardens.

Attendees at this behind-the-scenes tour will dive deep into Resonate’s creative design – and why it focuses on highlighting the beauty of nature to create a bolder and more immersive experience than ever before. A guided walk will explore two of the extraordinary light installations alongside commentary by core creative members of the Moment Factory design team.

Staff from Adelaide Botanic Gardens will offer insight into the significance of the species and environments chosen for highlight within the gardens.

The tour is followed by an afternoon tea held at the cultural heart of the gardens, the Schomburgk Pavilion, providing opportunity for further discussions with the creative experts.
