Art & Heritage Collections

Art & Heritage Collections is constantly endeavouring to source artefacts from current as well as historical projects in order to ensure the future of the University's collections and understanding of its heritage.

Over time, material is quickly and easily lost, so earmarking material for inclusion in the University Collections becomes crucial.

For example, we are beginning to add items from the University of Adelaide's Institute for Photonics & Advanced Sensing (IPAS) into the Physics Museum collection.

IPAS is opening up new areas in physics through its research, focusing on producing novel optic fibres for application in key industries such as defence, environmental monitoring, medical diagnostics and food and wine.

We are keen to reflect such activities through artefacts and documenting of the processes.

A display of material and information about IPAS will be on view in the Barr Smith Library during August.

If you have material that you think should be included in University Collections please get in touch with us on (08) 8303 4031.
